I come to you today with a short but sweet message. It is a beautiful March day (last day of March, to be precise) and things are feeling positive and optimistic in our classroom! With the end of the year peeking around the corner at us (it is crazy, I know!), it is starting to become clear that these kiddos are getting ready to become successful, responsible, mature 5th grade students. It is so fun to see how much they have grown socially, physically, and academically over this last year. As my first class of kiddos, I feel sad at the thought of letting them go, but look forward to seeing them continue to grow and learn next year as well!
But, let's not jump ahead of ourselves too much! We still have a good two months left before us. Two months that will be filled with learning, celebrating, and fun. Coming up, we have a big museum project in which students will research and write about a nonfiction topic and present their information. We will also be studying the solar system and doing some fun projects within this unit! We will be wrapping up our 4th grade math with the last 20 lessons from the book, and will continue practicing some of the skills that will be most needed in 5th grade. Biographies will be the topic of study for a couple of weeks in reading. There will be coffee shops, presentations, and parties in our near future. Hopefully sunshine and springtime will find the kiddos outside and enjoying the beautiful weather over the recess break. It is sure to be a great end to a wonderful year!
